Questions about

Getting started

What is Meshup?

Meshup is a social platform for building communities and making friends through shared interests and real-life experiences. You can discover people, join or create communities, take part in events, and start plans of your own.

Is Meshup a dating app?

No. Meshup is designed for friendship, communities, shared interests, and real-life activities. Romantic or sexual solicitation and unwanted advances are not permitted under our Community Guidelines.

Is Meshup free?

Yes. Meshup is free to join and most functionality is free, including creating a profile, discovering people and activity, joining or creating communities and events, and taking part in conversations. Optional paid features are clearly identified before you choose them.

Where is Meshup available?

Meshup was built in Singapore and is available globally on iPhone, Android, and the web. Public local activity depends on what members have created in each city.

Do I need the mobile app?

No. You can create an account, explore public content, and use supported features on the web. The iPhone and Android apps provide the complete mobile experience, including mobile notifications.

Questions about

Communities and real-life plans

Can I create my own community?

Yes. Meshup is built for people who want to bring others together. You can create a community around an interest, activity, neighbourhood, identity, or recurring reason to meet, then shape its description, visibility, rules, and membership.

What is the difference between a Community and a Club?

Communities are flexible spaces for people to gather around a shared interest or purpose. Clubs are more structured spaces for organized membership, teams, training, fixtures, and ongoing club operations.

What is the difference between an Event, a Pulse, and a Signal?

An Event is a structured meetup with attendance details. A Pulse is a quick, spontaneous plan for soon or right now. A Signal shares a question, observation, recommendation, or discussion with people who care about an Interest or Community.

How do friendships form on Meshup?

Meshup starts with something people already have in common. Joining a community, attending events, making spontaneous plans, and seeing familiar faces again gives friendship a natural reason and context to grow.

Questions about

Privacy, safety, and accounts

Who can see what I share?

Visibility depends on the feature and audience you choose. Public content can be visible outside Meshup, while community, group, or private content is limited according to its selected audience. Meshup shows the audience when you create or publish content.

Does Meshup show my exact live location?

Meshup does not intentionally display your exact live location to other people. Nearby discovery can use location or a city you select, while places you deliberately publish for an event or plan may be visible to its intended audience.

How does Meshup support safer meetups?

Meshup combines reporting, blocking, visibility controls, community moderation, participation-based Merits, and practical safety guidance. When meeting someone new, choose an appropriate public place, tell someone you trust, and leave if something feels wrong.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can request account deletion through the available account controls or contact Meshup Support. Some records may be retained where required for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons.

How can I contact Meshup?

Visit the Support page for help or email support@meshup.social. For immediate danger or an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
