These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Meshup (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Meshup PTE. LTD., a company incorporated in Singapore (the “Company”). “Meshup”, “we”, and “us” refer to the Company, and “you” refers to the user of the Service. By accessing or using Meshup, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
This is version 1.4 of our Terms. Previous versions may be requested by contacting support@meshup.social.
1. Service provider
Meshup is the product and brand name of the Service. The legal entity responsible for the Service is Meshup PTE. LTD.. We use “Meshup” throughout these Terms for simplicity. If you use Meshup on behalf of a business, organization, club, community, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Important safety notice
Meshup is designed for interest-based communities and real-life meetups. It is not a dating service. Use common sense, meet in public places first, tell someone where you are going, and take reasonable safety precautions when meeting people offline.
3. Eligibility
Meshup is intended for users aged 18 and older. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and legally permitted to use the Service in your jurisdiction. App stores, device settings, family settings, or parental controls may affect whether younger users can access or download the app, but Meshup is designed and positioned as an 18+ service.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping login details secure.
- You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate others.
- You must keep your email address and other important account information current.
- You may create or use more than one account, but each account must comply with these Terms. You must not create or use additional accounts to evade a suspension, ban, restriction, or enforcement action; impersonate or mislead others; manipulate engagement or platform features; send spam; or facilitate fraud, harassment, or other abuse.
- You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
- You must not sell, transfer, license, share, or give access to your account without our permission.
- You must not access or use the Service in an unauthorized, automated, abusive, or unlawful manner.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Meshup to post, share, organize, or promote content or behavior that is illegal, harmful, deceptive, unsafe, or violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Additional terms, rules, event conditions, community rules, or product-specific policies may apply to certain features.
- No harassment, hate, threats, intimidation, stalking, or targeted abuse.
- No sexual content, sexual solicitation, or unwanted romantic advances.
- No exploitation, grooming, or endangerment of minors. We apply zero tolerance to this category.
- No scams, fraud, impersonation, deceptive activity, misleading events, or false claims.
- No doxxing or sharing of private personal information without permission.
- No promotion of illegal activity, dangerous behavior, or conduct that may create real-world harm.
- No spam, scraping, unauthorized automation, reverse engineering, or attempts to manipulate engagement or platform systems.
- No interference with the security, integrity, availability, or normal operation of the Service.
- No unauthorized security testing. Meshup does not currently operate a public bug-bounty programme and does not offer payment, rewards, compensation, or recognition for vulnerability reports unless expressly agreed by Meshup in writing before any testing begins. You must not conduct penetration testing, automated scanning, exploitation, attempts to access user data, service disruption, social engineering, or other security testing without our prior written authorization. Suspected vulnerabilities may be reported privately to support@meshup.social.
6. User content
You own the content you post (“User Content”). You grant Meshup a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting or technical compatibility, display, perform, distribute, and make available your User Content solely to operate, provide, protect, promote, and improve the Service.
You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the rights, permissions, and consents needed to post it. You must not post content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy, publicity, or confidentiality rights, includes another person’s likeness without permission, or violates applicable law or our policies.
We may remove, restrict, reformat, or disable access to User Content where we believe it violates these Terms, our policies, applicable law, third-party rights, safety standards, or the integrity of the Service. Public content may be visible to other users and may be copied, saved, indexed, or shared by others.
7. Events, meetups, and external events
Meshup may allow users to create, join, discover, or attend events and meetups. A User-created Meshup event is an event or activity created or organized by a Meshup user through the Service. An External Event is an event, activity, performance, festival, market, gathering, or similar occurrence organized, operated, or provided by an independent third party and displayed or referenced through Meshup.
- Meet in public places first and take reasonable safety precautions.
- Do not create misleading events or use events to target, intimidate, deceive, or exploit others.
- Event organizers are responsible for describing events accurately and complying with applicable laws, venue rules, permits, health rules, and safety requirements.
- Users are responsible for deciding whether an event, organizer, attendee, location, activity, or payment arrangement is safe and appropriate for them.
- Meshup is not a party to offline arrangements between users unless we expressly say otherwise in writing.
External Event information
We may display factual information about External Events obtained from official organizers, venues, publicly available event information, licensed or open datasets, institutional or public-sector sources, and other third-party sources. We may create short factual summaries based on those sources. Event names, organizer names, and related factual information remain associated with the relevant third parties; displaying them does not mean Meshup created or owns the underlying event.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, Meshup does not organize an External Event, operate its venue, promote the event, sell its tickets, control admission, or guarantee that it will take place. Displaying an External Event does not by itself imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, affiliation, or authorization by its organizer.
External Event information may change, become outdated, contain errors, or be affected by cancellation, postponement, venue or admission changes, price changes, or sell-outs. We may make reasonable efforts to keep listings useful, but we do not guarantee that all information is continuously complete or current. Before travelling, purchasing, relying on admission, or making significant arrangements, check material details with the official organizer or source where available.
Tickets, attendance, and the Meshup social layer
Unless Meshup expressly states otherwise, Meshup does not sell or issue tickets for External Events. Transactions for tickets, reservations, admission, memberships, food or drink packages, travel, accommodation, or other third-party event services take place between you and the relevant provider. Meshup is not a party to that transaction merely because you discovered the event through the Service. Refunds, cancellations, and ticket disputes are governed by the provider's terms and applicable law, including any mandatory consumer rights.
Attendance takes place under the conditions set by the external organizer and venue. Meshup does not control venue safety, security, admission, accessibility, staff, performers, crowd conditions, alcohol service, organizer conduct, or cancellation. The offline-interaction and safety rules in these Terms apply equally when people meet through an External Event.
You may use Meshup to express interest, say that you plan to attend, find people to attend with, communicate, or create a Pulse or other social activity connected to an External Event. These social features do not make Meshup the organizer of the underlying event, and a user who says they are attending does not become its organizer.
Corrections, removal, and user submissions
We may correct External Event information, change classifications, update source links, mark an event cancelled, remove duplicates or listings, or stop displaying an event. We are not required to preserve an external listing indefinitely.
If the Service allows you to submit or reference an External Event, you must not falsely claim to organize it, impersonate an organizer, knowingly provide inaccurate information, submit unlawful content, upload event artwork without the necessary rights, spam, or use the feature for misleading commercial promotion. Existing User Content and intellectual-property rules continue to apply.
8. Subscriptions and payments
Meshup may offer paid features, subscriptions, promotions, trials, event-related payments, or other paid products. Prices, included features, billing periods, renewal terms, taxes, and cancellation procedures will be shown at or before purchase where required. Paid features may change over time, and we may add, remove, limit, or modify features in a plan where permitted by law.
- Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You are responsible for managing and cancelling subscriptions through the purchase channel used, including Apple App Store or Google Play where applicable.
- If you cancel a subscription, you may continue to access paid benefits until the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated.
- Deleting your Meshup account may not automatically cancel an app-store subscription; you must also cancel it through the relevant store or payment provider.
- Except where required by law or stated in a specific offer, purchases are final and non-refundable.
- Some jurisdictions provide mandatory refund or cancellation rights, and nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
9. Account deletion and termination
You may stop using Meshup at any time and may request account deletion through the app where available or by contacting us. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if you violate these Terms, our policies, applicable law, or if we believe action is necessary for safety, security, legal, operational, or integrity reasons.
Termination or account deletion does not automatically remove all content or records where retention is needed for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute-resolution, backup, or legitimate operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
10. Reporting and enforcement
You can report users or content in-app where available or by emailing support@meshup.social. We may investigate and take action, including removing content, restricting features, limiting visibility, suspending accounts, banning accounts, blocking technical access, or taking other safety or integrity measures. Where required by law, we may provide reasons for certain moderation actions and a way to appeal.
11. Our Service and intellectual property
Meshup and its software, design, logos, trademarks, trade names, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, features, and other materials are owned by Meshup or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use the Service for your personal, lawful use, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, scrape, access using unauthorized bots, attempt to extract source code, or use our intellectual property without permission, except where allowed by law. We respect intellectual property rights and may remove content or restrict accounts that infringe third-party rights.
Third-party event names, organizer names, logos, trademarks, and brands remain the property of their respective owners. Their display through Meshup does not grant Meshup ownership and does not by itself imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or partnership.
12. Third-party services and app stores
The Service may include links or integrations with third-party services. We do not control third parties and are not responsible for their services, content, policies, availability, or actions. If you download Meshup from an app store or purchase through an app store, the relevant app-store terms, payment terms, refund processes, and device rules may also apply.
Links labelled “Official event information”, “Tickets / official information”, or similar take you to a third-party website controlled by the relevant organizer, venue, ticket provider, or source. Its own terms and privacy policy apply when you use that website.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, Meshup disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted operation, safety of offline interactions, and error-free performance. We do not guarantee that users, events, communities, recommendations, messages, locations, or meetups will meet your expectations.
We are not responsible for the conduct, content, statements, omissions, or actions of users or third parties, whether online or offline. We do not generally pre-screen all content and cannot guarantee that all content or interactions will be accurate, lawful, safe, or appropriate.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meshup will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, enhanced, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, reputation, opportunities, or business arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meshup’s total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of SGD 100 or the amount you paid directly to Meshup for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health where applicable, and nothing limits mandatory statutory or consumer rights.
15. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Meshup, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or relating to your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your violation of third-party rights, or your conduct in connection with events, communities, or other users.
16. Disputes and governing law
Before starting a formal legal claim, you and Meshup agree to try to resolve disputes informally by contacting support@meshup.social and giving the other party a reasonable opportunity to respond. These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer laws in your location require otherwise.
Subject to any mandatory rights you have under local law, courts located in Singapore will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.
17. General terms
- These Terms, together with referenced policies, form the entire agreement between you and Meshup about the Service.
- If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
- Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
- You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our permission. We may assign or transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction.
- These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version controls unless applicable law requires otherwise.
- No agency, partnership, employment, franchise, or joint venture relationship is created between you and Meshup or between Meshup users.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or legally required. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
